Important Dates

Presentation Language

Please go to the on-line abstract entry system”UMIN” and select your language, Japanese or English.

1. Applicant Eligibility

Researchers in biomedical fields are eligible for the annual conference of JSMBE. JSMBE expects that the first author will become a JSMBE member.
If you apply Young Investigator’s Award session, we request you to become a member.

2. Abstract and Proceeding

You have two options to submit your paper as follows;
①submit an abstract and a proceeding.
②submit only an abstract.

JSMBE recommend ①“submit an abstract and a proceeding”. Both the abstract and the proceeding can upload in the on-line abstract entry system. Your abstract and proceeding will be published in the online JSMBE journal after the conference. In case the first author is a member of Japan Biomagnetism and Bioelectromagnetics Society (JBBS), your proceeding will also be published in the JBBS journal after the conference.

2.1 Abstract preparation

All applicants are required to submit an abstract in English.
Japanese abstract is an optional for Japanese presenters.
English Within 150 words or within 1200 characters.

2.2 Proceeding Preparation

Our society requests applicants, who have more than master’s degrees, to submit the proceedings in English due to disseminate their research to the world.

It is optional to submit a proceeding manuscript, but JSMBE recommends all applicants to submit it. However if you are concerned about multiple submissions, you may submit only an abstract. In case the first author is a member of Japan Biomagnetism and Bioelectromagnetics Society (JBBS), all applicants are required to submit a proceeding manuscript.

Proceeding is up to three pages with A4 size document.
Proceeding form in Word file is available as follows:

3.1 Copyright transfer

JSMBE requires that authors/ copyright owners assign copyright to JSMBE in order to publish an abstract and a proceeding. The copyright transfer agreement has been done by checking the “Agree” in the on-line abstract entry system.

* The copyright transfer agreement is required not only for the proceeding submission but also the abstract submission.

3.2 Conflict of Interest

JSMBE is providing the Guidelines Regarding Conflicts of Interest for the appropriate management of conflicts of interest (COI) resulting from involvement in collaborations between industry and academia.

Thus, anyone who plans to present at congresses or meetings of JSMBE is requested to disclose any COI with companies and associations related to the presentation/lecture scheduled at the abstract submission and at the presentation.

At abstract submission, if there is any COI to disclose in the first presenter, the first presenter needs to check the corresponding mark and disclose the COI information in the online abstract entry system. Also the first presenter is required to disclose any COI at the presentation in the conference.

If there is no COI to disclose, the first presenter can check the “Nothing to disclose”.

3.3 Human subjects and ethical considerations

JSMBE requires the certification that any research of the presentation has been approved by your Institutional Review Board on human research and on animal experiment.

If applicable, you are required to disclose whether the research received an approval from the presenter’s institutional ethics review board in the on-line abstract entry system.

If a research of the presentation that requires the approval by your Institutional Review Board has not been approved yet, the presentation might be rejected.

4. Young Investigator’s Award
